How goes the training with your puppies? How old are they now? Please submit a video of you doing the Stacked Stand. Once that training is complete, it is time to do the final important puppy exercise - the Down.
Hi! All well here...making slow, but steady progress. Working on laying fetch and "give", and also working on "place" with good results. We are at a very busy season for our household and business,so I feel I don't have as much time to work with Kit as I would like, but we are working o something every day. I will post some photos and videos soon. Thank you for your patience!
If you ever want to teach Kit to really retrieve, on command, to pick up whatever your want, PLEASE do NOT use the formal command Fetch. Instead, use an informal command such as Get it.
The reason why is the command for Fetch is used for teaching the practical, working on-command retrieve. It is not a play retrieve, it is a formal command. If you don't care to ever teach Kit the formal on command, working retrieve, that is 'go get that item, pick up and bring back to me' the it doesn't matter if you use the word Fetch.
Yes, I CAN teach you how to teach Kit the formal, on command, practical working retrieve, using the command Fetch. For example, why would you need a formal Fetch command? Think of dropping your set of keys, with your hands full of groceries as you manage a toddler at the same time, and Kit.
On no. You need help, but what to do? OH...you have a trained dog who can, on command, pick up your dropped keys, "Kit, Fetch". Voila, the magic of a trained dog becomes immediately useful and practical.

Food for thought, Claudia.
