Puppytime review

My Fortune is growing up!  Today she graduates from the Puppytime class and moves on to basic obedience.  Puppytime has given her all the tools she needs for success in her next steps.  Because the course is all online, the training and learning can be done whenever it fits into your schedule each day.  Roxanne is very responsive to any questions or concerns you might have throughout the course, which really helps to personalize and tailor the training to you, your dog and your household.

A key feature is the comprehensive introduction of all the concepts Fortune will learn about in depth over the coming weeks.  For first time or new puppy owners, Roxanne includes great information on setting up your house and establishing rules, grooming, socializing and bonding with your new puppy.  Each phase in the training adds new concepts.  Some of the things you will learn to teach your puppy include: stand (very useful for grooming and your veterinarian will love you for!), sit, place, down, touch and quiet time.  However, you will also learn how to structure puppy play to introduce and foster learning and training concepts you will develop later as you progress into basic obedience.

Be sure to check back as Fortune learns even more in her basic obedience course!  Research shows that puppies exposed to learning early also learn “how” to learn and have more capacity for learning throughout their lives.  Because they are exposed early, they lead more confident and productive lives.  All dogs want and need structure and value to be secure in their pack, including humans, other dogs and their communities.  Roxanne’s Puppytime course will help you to develop your own “Mannerly Puppy!”
